During Tasmanian Living Artists’ Week 2005, Simone Pfister was Artist in Residence at Taroona Primary School for a two week period as part of the newly launched Artists in Schools Program.
Simone approached the residency in a spirit of collaboration with the students. Choosing to work with all 280 primary school students, the task was enormous. Each participant created one or more prints which were then brought together in a large indoor collaged 'mural'. The theme of the mural reflected the environments of the bush, sea and gardens that surround the school. Students learnt a range of printmaking techniques including mono prints, lino cuts, carbon copying, and screen-printing.
