Simone Pfister is a Tasmanian based artist and designer. She graduated from the Tasmanian School of Art with a BFA in 1997 and completed an Honours year at Southern Cross University in Lismore in 2000. Since graduating she has been energetically developing her art practice, re-defining traditional printmaking and craft techniques. She is known for her unique, intricate, hand stitched paper dresses and hand drawn lithographic prints.

With a passion for traditional techniques and the hand made, 2009 saw the beginning of 'Simone Pfister Silver' , a small jewellery design venture now running in parallel with various art projects.

Inspiration for the art and design work comes from explorations of identity through memory, clothing, collections and found objects, with source material coming from both personal and collective narratives and memories of the everyday. Simone  enjoys combining aspects of the familiar with the exotic and making pieces that invite the viewer/wearer to look closely and imagine / remember their own stories.
